Signs You May Need A Root Canal

Root canals are needed when a dental infection occurs. This means that the interior of the tooth (the dental pulp) becomes inflamed and diseased. The Root Canal Procedure

The root canals procedure is actually fairly simple. First, we numb the area using a local anesthetic for your comfort. Then we access the interior of the tooth using specialized equipment called a rotary file. This instrument is flexible and rotates, allowing us to access to your dental pulp in the most comfortable way possible.

Once we have accessed the dental pulp, all of the infected tissue, including the connecting nerves, is removed. The now-empty cavity is filled with a substance called gutta percha. Gutta percha is putty-like and mimics the natural dental pulp. The tooth is then sealed from further infection and capped with a dental crown.
